The joint website of the European Consumer Centres Network (ECC-Net) has been renewed and now contains more information on consumer rights in the EU and the activities of ECC-Net.
The update has been coordinated by the ECC Netherlands, and the project group responsible for the new content has representatives from the ECC offices in Ireland, Sweden, Italy and Cyprus in addition to the Netherlands.
The eccnet.eu website offers EU consumers practical advice and information in English about whom to turn to when they encounter problems in cross-border trade. All European Consumer Centres help consumers to reach a settlement outside courts in cross-border trade disputes between consumers and traders when the consumer and trader are located in different countries in the EU, Norway or Iceland. If necessary, ECC-Net experts will contact the seller company and ensure that consumers are informed of their rights and receive expert advice in their own language.
The joint website of the ECC-Net also provides other stakeholders with information about the network and its activities and topical issues. Each ECC office also has a national website in its own language.
